Dagelijks leven in Ijsland/My daily life in Iceland

If ever you thought life was different here, you were wrong. Really?? Well, you decide. Most of the comments to the pictures are written in English, some of them in Flemish, and a few words here and there in Icelandic. Just to throw you off.

Hola, buenos dias, me llamo Jon y soy estudiante de Espanol - Adios wooden floor
So how was our week? Including our first Spanish class where we had a lot of fun, we had a pretty good week. The final wooden bits were removed from the cement, cleaned etc and Nonni cleaned up a lot outside around the house so on Friday, we were ready for the stage which was kinda what shall we say, emotionally painful. As you can probably tell from this picture, Nonni is not a happy man. The wooden floor had to go, and he found that very hard. For me, it was the ceiling that gave me some sore contractions, but this is part of deal, so we got on with it, from the clean cuts on the wooden floor to the dirty tearing down of the isolation underneath the roof, with the new temporary walls being put up in between. On Sunday evening our mission was accomplished and we are ready for the roof to be torn down, and Bjössi the bore to come and do his job.

The kids had a good time too this week, with Elin being excited about Berglind's birthday, sleep over parties etc. and her own birthday coming up this week, and Jonatan loosing his first tooth and making new friends at school so finally he has other options if Elin is not available.

Andrea has started Icelandic classes and life is just about falling into a nice rhythm again! Posted by Picasa
