Dagelijks leven in Ijsland/My daily life in Iceland

If ever you thought life was different here, you were wrong. Really?? Well, you decide. Most of the comments to the pictures are written in English, some of them in Flemish, and a few words here and there in Icelandic. Just to throw you off.

This is of course Jonatan with his new haircut with which he is terribly dissatified...but it will grow back, even though he doesn't believe so. Posted by Picasa

This past weekend the four of us went to London, England for some culture, fun, good food, football, and (hey, theres 3 icelanders) some shopping...and we had a great time. First of all, the kids did not know at all we were going some place - actually, very few people did, and we told them exactly 50 minutes before we were to leave home for the airport, after we picked them unexpectedly up from school: they were FLABBERGASTED (I only wrote this story to be able to use this word I love: flabbergasted) . In London, we went to the Eye of London, saw the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park, doubledeckers, Undergrounds, Hamleys (huge toy store), Stomp (a theatre piece with only sounds), football game, a few museums and lots and lots of different people. We like London! Posted by Picasa

Jonatan in the Eye of London, not at all afraid, we are still working on getting him to cut his hair, but he likes the power of being able to say no to something we want quite badly too much I guess. Posted by Picasa

Nonni and Elin, in the Eye of London, she was not very keen on it, but practised her how-to -overcome-my-fear skills Posted by Picasa

Typical view of this weekend: Walking somewhere in some suburb of London, beautiful buildings, churches and trees, just having a good time! Posted by Picasa

Stamford Bridge: home of CFC (Chelsea Football Club) and Jos Mourinho (my personal favorite). We went to the most important game of the year: Chelsea-Manchester United, and although we were not able to get in due to a total sell out, we were in THE pub next door where we watched and rooted for Chelsea together with other CFC fans and a camera crew who was recording the fans (we saw that later in the evening on the telly) . The game ended 3-0 for Chelsea, they won the championship and we got the time of our soccer lives, an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere was just electrifying!  Posted by Picasa
